Somliga med kristna böjelser tror att Jesus stod för någon form av kärleksbudskap. Andra med kristna böjelser verkar se det mer som att Jesus lika gärna stod för våld.
En vapentillverkare i USA, Trijicon, som tillverkar kikarsikten till arméns bössor har försett dessa bössor med små koder intill licensnumren, som syftar på olika bibelcitat.
Exempelvis:
"JN8:12" is a reference to John 8:12: "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.’"
"2COR4:6" is a reference to the second letter of Paul to the Corinthians: "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
Andra referenser kommer från uppenbarelseboken, Matteus och Johannes evangelierna och talar om Jesus som "ljuset i världen".
